Provides services to families with adolescents, counseling in matters pertaining to incest and sexual child abuse and other family problems. Open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Juvenile/Victim Assistance Unit Support and information to victms and witnesses of juvenile crime from the time that Police are first involved through the informal hearing, up to the possible referral of cases to the State's Attorney's office. Explains juvenile services' intake procedures, possible case outcomes, appeal process, Agency referrals, preparation of restitution requests, and Victim Impact Statements. Support, information and referral to victims of adult crime, particularly domestic violence victims. Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (Answering machine after office hours.) Legal Aid Bureau, Inc. Provides legal services to qualifying low income clients in civil cases; cases involving domestic relations child abuse and neglect, spousal assault, and contested custody. Open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Light House Metro Crime Stoppers Serves: Baltimore City, Baltimore, Harford, Howard and Anne Arundel Counties. Private organization which raises funds to pay rewards for solving serious crimes. Provides confidential Hotline to accept calls on crime tips which are then forwarded to the Police. If the tip results in an arrest and indictment, a reward of up to $1,000 may be paid. Open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. National Organization for Victim Assistance (Nova) This organization can be reached 24 hours a day. Volunteer crisis counselors/intervenors can assist any victim or witness of major crime or crisis at no cost via one-on-one crisis intervention or group crisis intervention sessions. Onionskins Collective Support group for survivors of incest. Sexual Assault Crisis Center Provides emergency response to hospitals for victims; crisis intervention, counseling, information and referral. Sick Room Loan Chest Provides residents of Anne Arundel County with loans of hospital equipment. Social Services Provides child and adult protective services. Accepts and investigates reports of suspected child abuse. Provides services and referrals for abused children, adults, and their families.
