TOWSON, MD (May 8, 2012) --- Parents and guardians of children will be offered a special service on May 9 at the Maryland Correctional Training Center south of Hagerstown: child identification kids.

The free service, open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. at the MCTC gatehouse on Roxbury Road, is a partnership between DPSCS and the Masonic Lodge based in Williamsport.

The Maryland Masonic Child Identification Program (MdCHIP) includes photographs, video, fingerprints, and vital child information.

The service is provided during DPSCS Employee Appreciation Week events, and has served as many as 125 children since its kickoff in 2009.

Members of the public do not need to enter the prison to take advantage of the service. It is being done in the gatehouse.
