Authorities Searching for Inmate from Maryland Correctional Institution - Hagerstown

Towson, MD (July 30, 2010)--- The Maryland Division of Correction has issued an escape alert for Dominic Webster, a 51 year old white male. Webster is 5'9 and weighs 160 lbs. He has short gray hair, green eyes and a mustache.

Webster was serving 25 years starting in 2008 for multiple counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and handgun use.

The inmate was housed at the Maryland Correctional Institution in Hagerstown and was unaccounted for during a 10:30 tier count on Friday, July 30th. At the same time local authorities were notified of the possible escape. After a sweep of the institution didnít turn up Webster an escape notification was officially broadcast over the Departmentís reverse-911 system.

The Division of Correction and the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services' Internal Investigative Unit are currently working with the local and State Police. At this point there is no physical evidence of an over-the-fence escape. Authorities continue to search the institution while police follow leads within the community.
